Photos and stitching

We headed to the Australia Day Fireworks and here are some great photos taken by my resident photographer!

I can't believe that January has flown by already. I have been busy stitching for our Stitching on the lake days coming up in just a few weeks. There are still places for both days, 20th February and 5th March. Here is a little sneak peak of one of the six projects.

 It was so lovely to catch up with Penny, from England, in December and January. She came over for a stitch/crochet afternoon just before she headed back home.

Busy times

It seems like ages since I have blogged! I have had a very busy time. Ma and Pa headed home on Monday, I worked on Tuesday and Wednesday was stitching and lunch and then I put away all the Christmas decorations! It took quite a while and I was very tired when it was all over.

 On Thursday, I headed to Sydney to stay with Ma and Pa and to catch up with my brother and to finally sort out my Mum's photos. They had been stored for years and it was really time to go through them and share them. There were some wonderful old photos amongst them as well as my own childhood ones. I have been enjoying looking at them and hope to scan them and also make an album of Mum and Dad's lives too.

 I haven't had a lot of stitching time but have started a little secret stitching for the stitching days coming up in March and April.

 Before I headed to Sydney, I managed to finish this block of Scandinavian Christmas.

My husband has been having a wonderful time playing with his camera and a few (how many does one camera need) new lenses. Here are some of his recent photos. As I write the birds are all grouped on the power lines in the rain!

Thought I would share some of the lovely pictures that hubby took recently with his brand new camera. He has wanted an SLR camera for a while and got one of Christmas (aren't I a good wife...). Here are some of his pictures taken recently nearby. He also took the pictures of the kids in the pool. Mine would have been blurry.

I haven't much to blog as I am still quilting and am busy this week at a Kids club at church, every morning this week. I just might take the camera and show you some of the crafts they are getting up to this week. I have spent too much time reading some early blog entries of some of my favourite blogs. One of my favourites is Attic 24. I love her use of colour and the way she shares her life with all of us. There is new little one in their home now which may keep her busy but her old posts about her home, food, scenery and the children are very special. I feel like I know Lucy well and I have never met her. Blogs are amazing.
