January ...

A few weeks of January are already over. Haven't been doing too much! I have had the miss a few days and we have been shopping, stitching and a few other outings. We had a lovely day at Questacon last week.

I have been sewing a bit. I made up these cute cross stitch trees and finished this little Christmas cushion too. It was a bit hard on the eyes as it is 1 strand over one thread.

I have continued working slowly on the Garden quilt by Anni Downs. I am enjoying the slow progress of just an applique each day or so.

I have also stitched some hexagons to make a pouch. These were a set of precut blue hexies.
Beth had gorgeous show and tell at stitching last week. Her lovely friend made her this amazing felt decoration.
.

The last big achievement is that the Christmas decorations are all away. It is a big job.

Stitching and other things

As my Owl and Hare BOM is up to date, I have enjoyed stitching some other things. Just love how this Tully Tote turned out. Lovely pattern by Natalie Bird and amazing gift from Fiona.

I have also been tempted and given in to making Amanda's lovely stitchalong on Instagram. All paper pieced and using liberties so no wonder I couldn't resist.
We all just loved this amazing bag that Jayne has made as a gift. What an amazing gift.
We headed to the city on Saturday night to celebrate our dear friend, Garrick's 70th birthday. It was a fun night.

The boys came over on Monday and had their first swim of the season!
Just a few pictures of recent times with the children. The little miss is in Japan at the moment having a fabulous time.

Knitting and stitching

I have been home for 2 weeks and it is nice to get back into normal life. I didn't stitch much at all on holidays. We were too busy. When we were at Penny's, I did knit some socks and then made two more hats for the hospital babies when I returned.

It had been lovely to see all the girls in my Wednesday stitching groups. It is very inspiring to see what they have been making. Sue has knitted this very cute mouse.
Roni has been very busy too and has completed these wonderful cushions.

Jayne did a lovely class with Wendy Williams recently and made these delightful bags.

I am back to stitching and have started the Owl and Hare Hollow BOM from the Homespun magazine. I am not sure if I will do the whole quilt but I am loving the stitcheries.

Stitching updates

I have continued working on my Yoko Saito quilt and have appliqued the blocks to the borders and added some trees, lampposts and birds.

I have also had some fun cutting squares for a liberty scarf!

Roni shared this amazing quilt with us last week. It is so beautiful. Pattern by Wendy Williams.

May is almost over and next month is going to be exciting. Firstly a trip to Sydney to see Mamma Mia and then off overseas for our first trip to Europe for several years! Best get my packing done!

This and that

It was lovely to have Ma visiting for a few days recently. We didn't get many photos but here is one of Ma and a few of the kids in the pool.

We also went to the Sleeping Beauty Childrens's ballet. The miss enoyed the afternoon.

At stitching last week, Jenny shared her gorgeous Christmas hangind she made recently.

Roni has also been busy and has completed these gorgous cross stitch decorations and started a lovely project with felt circles.

Jayne has also finished this cute little bag!

So lovely to see this embroidery finished. Adrienne has done a fabulous job.
I have also enjoyed a bit of relaxing cross stitch.
