Quilts etc

It was very exciting last week to pick up 4 quilts from the quilter! So good to be getting some of these older projects finished. I had Here, There and Everywhere basted for hand quilting. The other three were the Splendid Sampler, Teddies Garden Treasures and the baby quilt I stitched in 2005! The last, Golden slumbers, is a lovely pattern by the late Vivian Robinson.
This one is Teddy's Garden Treasures designed by Libby Richardson. The stitching was done on time in 2006. This week I have bound it and made a label.

Here is Golden Slumbers. I am working on the label now. I even pieced the back.

Finally I am still slowly working on Fairy Kisses.

We enjoyed a lovely stitching night at Maree's recently. She has been busy and has finished all of these great projects.

Lovely catch up

We headed to Sydney last Saturday to have afternoon tea with Ma and all of Bruce's cousins. It was so special to catch up with these lovely friends. Ma is the only one left of her generation so it was special for her and for the cousins as well. It was catered and the food was very good!

A gift, some progress and birds

Lovely to catch up with Fiona this week and to receive this beautiful early birthday gift. I just love this special tin with tricky hardanger on the top and the piece of liberty fabric too.

I have been slowly working on my old UFO, Fairy Kisses, by Helen Stubbings.
Bruce took some lovely pictures of these birds recently.

Off to school..

All the littlies headed back to school and preschool this week. Little Jack has his first day at his new preschool. This little man has such an expressive face! The big boys went on Tuesday and are in year 2.

Miss Alice headed to big school and is now in Kindergarten.

We are back to some morning drop offs and pick ups again.
This little fellow was started a long time ago by Sam. He drew the picture and I cut it out from felt and he did a bit of stitching. I finally finished it for him.
I pulled out one of my oldest UFOs the other day and chose some fabrics and started to put it together. It is Fairy Kisses by Helen Stubbings. I think I started it in 2004???

Outings....

What a January we have had! February is not looking too good either with fires still blazing all over the place, including south of Canberra. Thank you to all the hardworking firemen and women who have worked so hard. On a brighter note, besides being hot, there has been a few outings! My girls took me to the Hyatt for high tea recently for my Christmas present. It is a very special thing to do.

We headed to the National Library on Thursday to see Mary Poppins returns. That was fun.

I haven't had much energy this week with the heat but did manage to make Jack's Library bag.
