Floriade

The Thursday group headed into Floriade for our end of term morning tea/lunch. It was a perfect day for it. I even caught the bus in which was very convenient. We enjoyed yummy food, good company and the lovely flowers.

Stitching progress...

A few weeks ago, Jayne shared her beautiful version of Seaside Town with us at Wednesday stitching. It is so special and Jayne has quilted it so well. I just love Jayne's fabric choices and those little houses are so lovely!

I have been keeping up with my Stitch Therapy 365 blocks and we are up to about 265! I am still enjoying this process very much.

I have also been working on my chatelaine, which was Anni's project from our lovely weekend away.

I also like to have an ongoing project in the sewing room. This quilt was started in about 2007 and now it is being put together. It is Teddy's Garden Treasures by Libby Richardson! All the stitcheries were done in the year that I bought the BOM!

Stitch the Day Away

It was very exciting to head to Queensland on Friday for Stitch the Day Away on Sunday. We caught the bus and then the plane to lovely warm Marcoola. Brenda, Caroline, Paddy and I shared a lovely apartment with a pool and near the beach. We did try our the pool, even me, and check out the beach.

On Saturday we had our swim and then coffee and cake. We caught the bus then to Maroochydore and had a lovely afternoon browsing the very extensive shopping centre, Sunshine Plaza. We had lunch there and then bought supplies for a delicious grazing dinner! On Sunday we headed just up the road to our stitching day. It was very special to catch up with Fiona there. The day is organised by Lynette Anderson and her special guest was Anni Downs.

We were given two lovely projects and starter kits but there was plenty of temptation to get us shopping.

It was a very lovely way to spend a day though not that much stitching was done!

Family and stitching

We are back to the swing of things again! Doesn't take long. I managed to catch up on my Stitch Therapy over the last few weeks. I didn't like being behind! I know......it is a bit obsessive.

I also did the satin stitch needed on my holiday stitching. This is one of the lovely designs by Natalie Bird.
We have also had a few special events for the big boys. They had Book week a couple of weeks ago.

Then they had an assembly too! I was able to provide some glasses, hats and vests to dress up as olden days people.

Home

So lovely to be home again. I did miss my relaxing and stitching time this holiday. It was a bit too busy but it was worth it to see so many lovely places. We are back to normal.....seeing the family, lunch out with friends and all the usual activities. Sadly, we farewelled a lovely friend last week. Jo was such a special person and we will miss her very much.
It has been good to catch up with everyone. Just thought I would finish the holiday with the few things that I bought. I did get some gifts for the kids but they have those!

It was great to catch up with the stitching girls last week (with my little assistant, Alice). We were so thrilled to see Jayne's beautiful work. So so motivated to get sewing!!!

Roni has made these gorgeous decorations too.
I did stitch one thing while away but needs just a few more stitches. I did do a few of my Stitch Therapy blocks before I went and here was what I was up to last week! I am busy catching up.
