Parties and decorations

It has been a busy but special week. There have been several parties to enjoy and a little stitching in between. On Thursday, the Wednesday social ladies headed to Gold Creek for a yummy high tea to celebrate Christmas.

 On Thursday night we had a great meal together with the Thursday ladies. Marion made the most amazing chocolate roulade for dessert! The mango was delicious too.

 I have been trying to get little Jack's stocking made this week! I am about to add some buttons and then put it together.

 So my only decorations for this week were another couple of these cute knitted stockings.

A bit more stitching...

There were too many things to show in one post this week. We were so impressed with Roni's Santa on Wednesday. It is a Tilda pattern. This is one Santa I am hoping to make.....for next Christmas probably! Isn't he wonderful. 

 Paddy has finished her beautiful Christmas table mat by Hugs and Kisses.

 Paddy has also been making a wonderful stocking for her little granddaughter, Laura. Looks so beautiful.

Beth has been busy too and has finished her lovely Santa bag from the stitching day.

Show and tell

Classes started again on Wednesday this week and it was great to catch up with all the ladies that usually come and some new ones too. A few of them had lovely show and tell to share. Jayne had finished her little Christmas bag and it looks really lovely. I just love the fabrics she has used from one of Anni Downs' ranges.

 I wanted to take this gorgeous zippered pouch home with me but Sally wouldn't let me!

 Barbara has been busy getting ready for Christmas and has made this very special stocking for a special little boy.

 She has also whipped up this great patchwork pillow for her grandson as well!

Wednesday at the shop and the extra stitcher's angel gift

It is always so lovely each week to see what the ladies have done at social stitching in the morning. Marilyn has completed her beautiful table runner using a kit prepared at Hobbysew. It looks so good and Marilyn has done a fantastic job.

Marianela opened her gift from my Stitcher's angel as well and this what was in the package. Gladys was so generous to both of us. Marianela also translated my letter from Gladys and it was so nice to hear what she has said. If you are reading this, Gladys, I do love my gifts and you have stitched them so well. Thank you.

At my class in the afternoon, the ladies were all busy getting ready for Christmas and Jill has completed 2 of the little stitched stockings. Don't they look lovely? She is an expert at the stitches now!

Jill has also finished this delightful stocking for her granddaughter.

More of Carol's finishes and some painting

I told you that Carol has been a busy girl. Here is her lovely embroidered stocking from the stitching day.

We couldn't believe all these bags! We all thought she should do a few more so that none of us would miss out! Ha Ha!

This is Carol's beautiful stitched and patched bag from a design by Vivien Robinson. I love the fabric choices. We all wanted the lovely button too. This is one side...

Here are Linda and Margot busily painting the wooden buttons. They did a great job.

Sue's gorgeous stocking

My friend Sue was able to get to Wednesday stitching this week as it is still school holidays in NSW. She was working on this delightful stocking for her newest little grandchild, Tex. She has made 4 different Shepherds Bush stockings already for her other precious grandies. Her lovely scissor keeper is in the photos too.

I have a few of these patterns in my cross stitch stash to do one day. Sadly, I am not too motivated to cross stitch anymore. Also sadly, I left my camera on the charger on Wednesday night and my night class had so much to show and tell. I do hope they bring it all again next week so I can share it here.

Stitching day Projects

Only a week to go till our first stitching day, Stitching on the Lake, on Saturday 12 September and our second, Queanbeyan stitching, on Sunday 13th. It is always exciting preparing the projects and Fiona and I thought we would post some pictures of our projects on our blogs. This will enable you to collect some fabrics together and to decide which one you will make first. This is the Canvas envelope. This shows the front, the inside and the back.

Here are the Strawberries Galore. There is a little felt strawberry which could be a scissor keeper or decoration and a lovely little strawberry clover cutter cover.

This is the Santa Hanging.

Here is the little Embroidered Stocking Decoration. It is stitched on ticking, which is like the fabric that mattresses were made out of in the olden days.

Here is the little Christmas Cushion. If you are planning to make this one if would be good if you did the log cabin by machine at home.

Here is the Biscornu Pincushion. It looks so lovely and could be done in Christmas colours if you want.

Finished little stocking

I should be dressed and almost out the door as I am teaching kindy today! Bit of a shock after a few months with no school days. I also forgot my camera yesterday and there were so many things to take pictures of at stitching. Hope they bring them again next week. Here is my first finished little Bareroots stocking. Only 5 to go.

Baby blanket and Hugo's bag

Barbara has made this lovely blanket for her new little grandchild. It is knitted and then appliqued and embroidered. It will be so warm and cosy.

There is even a little bee.

Sue was very thrilled to finish Hugo's bag! She did a great job and agreed with me that it was an effort. She was going to give it as a gift but isn't sure now! Well done, Sue.
