The theatre

It was great fun to head to the little theatre at the Gungahlin College recently to see The School of Rock. It was very good and the children in it were amazing.

And just a few pictures of the grandies.

The brown doggy in the centre is our grand dog Alfie. He seems to be settling in well in his new home. We are not very "doggy" but he is a cute fellow. This picture is him at Doggy Day care.

This and that

Lovely to stitch with all the ladies last Wednesday. So good to see them and very motivating too. Jayne has been busy and has made a gorgeous zippered pouch using the Scrappy Backgrounds pattern.

I just love this cute pencil case that Jayne brought to stitching.
Roni has made excellent use of her scraps and has made this useful drawstring bag.
I put the borders on my Around Town BOM a few weeks ago but forgot to share it.
Here is my progress so far in the Vermont Summer Medallion. It is very addictive.
To finish, here are some of the flowers in our garden, taken with hubby's new camera lense. The garden has been loving the constant rain!!

Progress and family

I have spent the week working on my Vermont Summer Medallion quilt that I started last week. It is a bit addictive! Here is my centre block.

Lovely to see Jayne's beautiful kookaburra! Isn't he amazing.
Jenny shared her gorgeous quilt with us on Wednesday night. It is a wedding gift for her niece!! How lucky are the wedding couple and it is a perfect day today for the wedding!
Must share these picures of some of the crazy grandchildren. I took them to the museum recently and there they are up the hill on the sculpture while I tried to pay for parking!! They weren't that interested in the museum but morning tea and just being together was fun.

A screen is always popular.

We also went out as a family for Lyndal's birthday. Here is the miss waiting for her cousins to arrive.

Lovely class

Fiona came to rainy, chilly Canberra to to go to a class at Makerie with Judy Newman. We had such a nice time. Judy is a fabulous teacher and we learnt some new tricks and Makerie is a lovely shop. I may have bought a few essentials and a few other lovely things too. We went for 2 days and some of the ladies are there enjoying a third day! We both started the Vermont Summer Medallion which is quite a bit of needleturn.

Here we are with Judy and the beautiful quilt we are making.
And....here is my start! We did prepare some paper pieces for the next border but there was not much to show for 2 days of stitching.
