Napier and Picton

We had a wonderful day in Napier as the Art Deco Festival was on. It is the first time they have run the celebration for 4 years due to covid and a cyclone. It was perfect weather and it was fantastic to see the old cars and the locals all dressed up. There was even a fly past of old aeroplanes.

The next day we were in Picton. We had hired a car and headed out to Blenheim and had coffee and visited the park. We then drove through the wine regions and had lunch. On our way back to Picton we drove the scenic route around the Marlborough Sounds.

Cruising again

On Monday, 12th February, we drove to Sydney and stayed at Ma's. We were up very early to catch our flight to Christchurch. Sadly it was delayed so we arrived later than expected. We had hoped to visit the Antarctica Exhibition but were too late. On Wednesday we headed to Arthur's pass for the day. Gorgeous scenery and it was lovely to be able to stop wherever we wanted with the car. We especially enjoyed Castle Rock.

On Thursday we had another delayed flight to Auckland to get on the Celebrity Edge. We made it in time and it is a lovely ship. The highlight of this trip was going to Hobbiton on Friday from Taurunga. It was wonderful. I especially loved all the wonderful hand made bits and pieces in the gorgeous Hobbit house that you can walk inside. Probably too many pictures but it was so good!

This and that

I have made some progress these last few weeks on my Owl and Hare Hollow BOM. It is now a finished top (to add to the pile of others that need quilting)! It always feels good to get to this stage. This has been a fun quilt to make.

It was very exciting to receive my 2023 Blog book in the mail. So nice to see all the memories and stories of a good year.

Ay stitching on Wednesday, Roni shared some of her recent finishes!!! They are all just gorgeous.

I also thought I would share my knitting from many years ago!! I am passing them on to my neice for her latest little one. So nice to see them here to remember them.

Finally a few pictures of my lovely boys heading off to their new school in Perth.
