Mull and Iona

We got up very early (5.30am) on Thursday, 8th August, to catch the ferry to Mull. There were many single track roads today with passing bays. We also caught several ferries. The scenery on Mull was amazing.

The highlight for me was going to Iona. We took the ferry there, leaving the car on Mull.

 We visited the Nunnery first.

Then I went into Iona Community buildings, which was very special. There was a museum tracing the Christian faith way back to the 600s or so.

We then drove to the next ferry which took us back to the mainland.

Eventually, after more one track roads and some larger ones we arrived in Arisaig, where we were staying the night. The next day we caught the ferry to Skye. This day was a bit disappointing as it rained for most of the day. I only took a couple of pictures at Portree Harbour.

We drove on to Uig and had lunch but as the weather hadn't improved we headed to our accommodation at the Kyle of Lochalsh. This was the view from our hotel! We also enjoyed a delicious meal here.
