More of Wednesday girls' lovely work

Donna brought in her french knot picture, which had been beautifully stitched and framed. We did this technique in a class years ago and a few of us thought we ought to do another picture sometime.

In the evening, lots of the girls had been finishing their stitching day projects. Here is Linda's canvas needle roll! Fantastic colours, Linda.

Margaret had finished her notebook cover as well.

I think these are Margaret and Linda's bookmarks. Sorry if I have that wrong. Don't they look good. The flower button looks good painted and left as is.

Sue is a wonderful knitter and brought along this fabulous felted bag that she had made. She knitted it and then embroidered the circles and then felted it. Feel like getting those knitting needles out and making one of these. I think the pattern was in the Homespun magazine recently!

A block finished and show and tell from last week

How exciting! I have finished the first block (G) of the stitchalong quilt, The Gardener's Journal. I am quite pleased with the colours as I have used fabrics from my stash that match the border that I ordered. It will be a very scrappy quilt but I don't mind that look. Started cutting and organising the May block this afternoon.

Last Wednesday, Joan brought in her wonderful dinosaur quilt. I shared the blocks with you earlier but here is   the quilt all together. There will be patterns for these blocks available at Hobbysew soon.

This is the pillowcase.

Michelle was having a lovely time stitching on her latest creation. She has handpainted the fabrics and the background and has fused the flowers on and is stitching around them with a naive backstitch. It's looking great, Michelle.

I do hope all the mums had a wonderful mother's day today. We went to our daughter's house for afternoon tea and had a lovely time. The kids bought me a charm for my Pandora bracelet. It is the eidelweiss one which is a lovely reminder of my Austrian heritage.

Some lovely show and tell

It was so nice to see all the lovely bags and book covers that some of the Queanbeyan girls had made. Joanne has had this stitchery on a folder cover with her before but I admire it every time.

Pam has made this lovely bag with special pockets to hold her projects.

Yvonne has this amazing bag with her. Every hexagon has the most wonderful embroidery on it. These are some of Bronwyn Hayes stitcheries and Yvonne has made them smaller.

On the other side she has some lovely teacups and cupcakes.

There were lots of finished projects from last year and here is Jane's little village. She has had a lovely time adding more embroidered gardens to her village.

Queanbeyan Stitching day

It was lovely to catch up with the ladies at Queanbeyan on Sunday for another stitching day. We met in the hall at Jerrabombera primary and it was so nice to catch up with the ladies once again. They were making the same projects as we did on Saturday. Here they are hard at work.

This was a lovely display on one of the shop's stands. She has some lovely knitting needles with spotty wooden ends. I was tempted but am not knitting too much these days.

Stitching day show and tell

I just loved this little biscornu that one of the ladies (sorry, I have forgotten who) made after the last stitching day. This picture shows the front and the back. They are both beautiful.

Carolynne finally let me photogragh her little village. She has embroidered the most beautiful gardens in the corners.

Stitching day continued

We painted the flower button on the day and here are some of the  ladies concentrating on their painting.

Stitching on the Lake

So lovely to have time to blog about our busy but special time with all the ladies at Stitching on the Lake. I have a few posts of pictures to share with you. Here are the samples ready for the day.

The bags are all ready and the room is set up.

We had three shops come to show their lovely goods. This is Cute as a Button, with lots of tempting Nancy Halverson patterns, fabrics and kits.

This is Jen's stall from Arty Farty projects. Jen has her own designs and has books and other goodies too.

This is Hobbysew's lovely stall. They hadn't quite finished when I took this picture. They had some lovely fabrics, kits, buttons and notions too.

Here are we are during the day. It was such a lovely time seeing all the ladies again. I'll show some more pictures tomorrow of them all busy and stitching...or were they chatting and eating?
