Sydney Craft and Quilt Show

Paddy and I headed to Sydney on Thursday so we could go to the Craft show on Friday. We had a great day. Lots of lovely shopping and looking and very tired legs at the end of all that walking! Here are some views of the many stalls from above.

We, of course, headed straight to Hatched and Patched to see Anni and to see all her gorgeous books, kits and all the lovely samples. Her kits were far too tempting and I came home with lots to make from her lovely new book.
There were some great displays too. I wanted to eat these licorice allsorts. These were on a display of creative clothing.

These wonderful tea cosies looked fabulous! The author of these great knitting books was signing them on this stall. Aren't they just amazing!

One of the highlights of the day was catching up with fellow bloggers at a special meeting at lunch time. Here are Fiona and Chookyblue.
Here I am with Fiona, Dzintra and Patricia....thanks Susan for letting me know.
It was great to catch up with Kate too. It was handy that we were colour coordinated.
Nice to see Sandy as well.
Isn't it amazing how many of us blog!
The best name badge belonged to Alison.
It was very special to catch up with lots of the ladies whose blogs I enjoy and to meet some others as well. Thanks Chooky for organising the meeting. Then it was back to more serious shopping!

Wednesday stitching and a little progress

It is always lovely to catch up with the stitching girls on Wednesday and see their works in progress. Karen is doing a wonderful job on her Quiltaid BOM. Here is her frog block done.
I just loved this little quilt on this almost finished block.
In the evening, Danielle was working on these very cute owls!
I have been stitching a little over the past weeks and managed to applique the very last blocks of In My Garden! I must admit it is a relief to have the applique done. Now I just need to put this blocks together and add borders to have the top done.
This is what has amused me over the past week. I bought this wool last year at the craft show and thought I had best knit it up as I am going again this week.

Looking forward to seeing lots of friends at the show on Friday and it will be fun to catch up with the blogging community too.

New books and a small finish

I was so excited to see this lovely new book at Hobbysew yesterday. Yes, it is Anni Downs newest book and it is such a great book with really special projects. Can't wait to make some of them! Thanks, Anni, for my special signed copy.
This is the back cover showing some of the wonderful projects.
To make the week even better, the June copy of Vignette arrived and it is lovely too.
Over the weekend I managed to finish this little bag from the Tis the Season book. I am looking forward to using it in December as my stitching bag! It was fun making the hexagons and choosing the buttons for the front of the bag.

I think this can count as a little finish for this week!

Wonderful stitching

Last Wednesday afternoon was so inspiring! Karen has finished the gorgeous jackets for her granddaughters. They are so beautiful and are even embroidered on the back.

Great to see Bronwyn back again and she had so much Show and Tell. She has been doing some punch needle and has made up this lovely bag from an Anni Downs book.
She had also finished this glasses case (or pencil case) as well.
Bronwyn has been doing some lovely ribbon embroidery too.
She has also sewn up her Some Kind of Wonderful bag! I am so inspired to make mine up soon! it looks great, Bronwyn.
I came home inspired to get to my many half made projects but didn't get very far. I am thinking of trying to make up one thing each week from my stitched, half done, pieces. Wonder if I can do it?

Some kind of Wonderful update

Just made it for May! Here are my May blocks for the 'Some kind of Wonderful' Stitch-a-long all pieced.
I have even managed to add the side border as well!
At least one of my many projects is up to date!

Knitting???

Here is the wool that I bought at the markets last weekend and I have been knitting! I have quite enjoyed it as the wool is 4 ply and the needles are normal size so it all seems to go smoothly. Mind you, I have been a bit lost with the patterns as the instructions have changed and I have forgotten things over all the non-knitting years. Thanks to the ladies on Tuesday who helped me out!

I had forgotten to share these lovely photos with you of some great stitching. Coralee has finished her little zippered purse and it looks so good. She has done a beautiful job.
She has also finished her little Daisy doll.
Barbara had beautiful show and tell too. Isn't this a lovely teatowel she has embroidered?
Barbara had also put together her little Noah's ark stitchery into a little pillow. Looks great.

Bus Depot Markets

I managed a quick visit to the Wool Day at the Bus Depot Markets on Sunday. So lovely to catch up with  Fiona, Maree, Lynne and Shirley from the Bay over lunch. Couldn't resist the delicious Ethiopian food! There were so many lovely handmade things on display. There are lovely food stalls too selling delicious bread, pasta, relishes and lots more.

As I left it was fun to see these woolly sheep who have helped make the woollen products inside.

I did buy a skein of wool and have been doing a little knitting!!!!!
