There was even street art of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the famous architect.
We visited the cathedral and the Necropolis and heard about the patron Saint of Glasgow, St Mungo. His miracles are represented everywhere by the symbol of the robin, fish, tree and bell.Very exciting to see a real Dr Who police box.
We started our tour in George Square and ended it there as well. This statue is always adorned with a cone on his head!
We then went to the Lighthouse, which is a building that was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in the early 1900s. They had a great display of his history and life and his many creations. We went to the top if the tower to see the view.
The next day we left our apartment, thank goodness. The hot water did work eventually! We went to the amazing Riverside Transport museum. It was so good. We did a guided tour which was very worthwhile.
We then drove to the Hill House, designed by Macintosh in 1903 for the Blackie family. It is completely covered as it has had lots of problems with damp! It was great to see.
We enjoyed lunch there as well.We then drove to Oban via Loch Lomond.
