Block of the Month Progress and a gift

Hurray! I have finally completed the last block in the Your Home or Mine BOM. It has been an enjoyable process but 12 of these blocks and 12 sets of triangles is a lot of work. I foundation pieced the triangles instead of english paper piecing which did make it easier.
I made the patchwork blocks each month as well and have completed 13 of these. Yesterday I trimmed the house blocks to size so am ready to put it together.
Last Wednesday, Maxine, from the afternoon class, gave us each a little bear. He is so gorgeous and little as you can see when you compare him to a cup! We were all thrilled as he is so special.

Last BOM block

I went away on the weekend with my Bible study group and we had a wonderful time at the coast. I even went for a swim in the ocean which is amazing for me as the water was rather chilly. I really enjoyed it! Those who know me know that I don't venture into the water unless it is very hot and the water is warm and then I still hesitate! We enjoyed great food and lots of relaxing chat and laughter. We even had a go at ABBA singstar which was hilarious. Luckily, or sadly, I had forgotten my camera so there are no pictures!
I did get a chance to do a little stitching and managed to finish stitching the FINAL block of the "My Home or yours" BOM that I have been working on for ages. I just need to do the patchwork around this block and 2 more of the nine patch and applique blocks and I will be ready to put it together. How exciting!

Old work in Progress!

I am feeling very guilty about this work in very slow progress (some call these wisps). I started this beautiful BOM years ago and it is "Fairy Kisses" by Hugs and Kisses.
I was reading Helen's blog the other day and she asked people to email her about how far along they are on this project. I did and admitted that I had stitched every piece but hadn't put it together which is very slack! So I got it out and took some photos. This is the centre block.

The ones below are some of the others. Even the larger borders are stitched. I am trying to make myself guilty so I will finish this project. I chose not to colour in the pictures as Helen did on her original. I really do like to stitch more than piecing on the machine. I am hoping to get started on the piecing very soon.
