We left Heilly on Monday 26th June, and returned the car to Amiens. Petrol was tricky as the first station wouldn't accept my cards. Thankfully the next one did. There was a little drama as Bruce left his backpack (with camera) in the car but it was all OK. We caught the train to Lille and then walked to Lille International and caught the Eurostar to London. Our bedsit was close to St Pancreas Station so we were able to walk there. Other than being on the top floor with many steps it was really very good. Small kitchen, air conditioning and comfy bed. The best part was the washing facilities in the basement which we really needed! We then went to Waitrose for cereal etc and then had a nice Italian meal.
On Tuesday, 27th June, we caught the bus to check out the sights.
We visited the British Museum but it was so busy there. We saw a few things but then gave up and had lunch and a rest.
We ended up walking back to the apartment as we couldn't work out the buses. Very tired so bought some simple meals to heat up in the room.
