Around and in Beaune

We had 2 days in Beaune and in the surrounding little towns and beautiful countryside. We were fortunate to have some fine weather when we visited Nuit Saint Georges. It looked like rain but just held for a walk among the vineyards.

I had a lovely visit to this little knitting and stitching shop.
We headed off on our walk and were just lucky to get back to town before it rained.

We also drove to Sentenay and Aloxe-Corton and through a few other tiny villages. So many lovely places to see!

Beaune was lovely too but the highlight was the Hospice De Beaune. It was so amazing.
This is the entry to the Hospice and then you head inside and it is all amazing. To think it was built over 500 years ago to care for the poor who were ill.

The polyptych of the last judgement was created in the 1400s and used to be in the chapel.
This is part of a huge beautiful tapestry from the same era.
We have seen so many wonderful things! It is hard to even remember where we have been each day! We are now in Lyon and head to Paris tomorrow.
