Keswick, Derwent Water and a bus tour

On Wednesday, 3rd May, we bought a day pass for the bus and that included a boat ride on Derwent Water at Keswick. Keswick is a lovely town and we enjoyed a wander around the streets before we had our boat ride.

We then went back to town and had a delicious pizza for lunch. As we had a bus pass we also caught the bus on the Keswick Honister loop which took us through some interesting countryside.and past some of the smaller lakes. In the evening we went out for dinner in Windermere as it was our anniversary.
On Thursday we had organised to go on a bus tour with the Mountain Goat Company. It was called Best of the Lakes and took us to such interesting places. We went high up mountain passes and saw several other lakes like Wast Water, Krunnuck Water and Buttermere.

This little train was at one of the stops along the way.

We also saw an ancient stone circle

We even saw the Irish sea in the distance. On our way back we had a quick look (from the bus) at Wordsworth's cottage, Rose Cottage.
