Stott Park Bobbin Mill, parks and Townend

On our last day in the Lake District, we headed to the Stott Park Bobbin Mill. It was a fascinating place to visit. We did a tour of the mill and saw and heard all about how the bobbins were made for many years for the cotton industry. I do love wooden bobbins and have a few in my collection at home. I think some of them may have been made here.

We then had a look at a park called Fell Foot Park, right on the edge of Windermere.
After lunch we visited another garden called Stagshaw Garden. There were gorgeous views of the lake here.

In the afternoon we realised that a lovely National Trust Farm called Townend was nearby so we just had to go. It was very special. It was near Troutbeck where we camped all those years ago.

On Saturday, 6th May, we packed up and set off for the Peak District. We visited two nice towns on the way, Kirkby Lonsdale and Settle. It was great to finally reach our lovely accommodation at Uppergate Farm.
