Uzes and Avignon

On Thursday 15 June, we headed to Nimes on the train. We saw a couple of Maso houses as we walked to the station.

I managed just a little stitching. This is the only stitching I have done the whole holiday so far.

Penny and John came to pick us up in Nimes which was very kind. We went to Uzes to our very lovely apartment in the old town. This is the view from our courtyard.

We wandered around the town and then had a drink in the lovely square and decided to stay and have dinner there. Very delicious. We finished our meal with a glace/icecream.

On Friday, 16th June, we had the day in Avignon. We went to the Papal palace and then went "sur le pont Avignon" to sing the song.

There were some stitched tapestries on display which were interesting.

We enjoyed a Menu Midi for lunch that was delicious.
