Beijing

Our second day in Beijing was very interesting and we saw some amazing sights. The smog was pretty bad which was the only thing to spoil the day. We first went to Tianamin Square and then onto the Forbidden City. Tianamin Square was so full of people, mostly Chinese, coming to visit Mao's tomb and the Forbidden City.

 The Forbidden City was amazing.

 We had lunch, very delicious, here in the old part of Beijing in an old house which is now a restaurant and hotel.

 We then went to the Temple of Heaven which was used by the emperor only a few days a year to pray!

 On our way out these ladies were crocheting and selling their goods.

 Lots of retired folks were enjoying games and cards here in the park.

We then headed back to the ship.
