Falmouth, St Ives and the Minack Theatre

On Monday, 20 July, the weather was a bit grey and drizzly. We headed to Falmouth and walked a long way to Pendennis Castle. The main tower had been built by Henry VIII and many other buildings have been added over the years. It was used extensively to protect the coast over hundreds of years and also in the two world wars. We did an interesting guided tour of the World war II guns and also where the ammunition was stored. Not many photos as the weather was so bad.

Tuesday was a lovely day and we headed to St Erth Station and caught the train to St Ives. St Ives is a gorgeous town with lovely beaches, shops and nice restaurants too. We just had to have a yummy cream tea once again.

In the afternoon we had booked to go to the Minack theatre, which is an open air theatre right on the edge of the coast. It was a great experience and it ended up being quite hot!
